
So, a Newyorker named Nick had his car for sale on
Craigslist and a scammer from Benin Republic (let’s call him Mike for
some reason) had intentions to buy it. His method was to send Nick a fake
cheque with more than the asking price on it. He would then ask Nick to repay
him the difference, then blame the mistake on an admin error,
thereby taking real cash from Nick and leaving with
nothing.
