President of United Arab Emirates, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 103 Egyptian prisoners, who were sentenced in different cases in the country.
The President also pledged to settle their financial obligations as a result of enforcing those sentences, underlining the President’s keenness to offer the released prisoners the opportunity to start a new life and alleviate the suffering of their families.
An excited Egyptian ambassador to the UAE for the fate of his countrymen, Tamer Mansour hailed the decision of the President.
Speaking to Al Ahram’s Arabic-language news website, Mansour said that Shaikh Khalifa’s decision was illustrative of “the depth of the historical relationship between the two countries.”
Mansour said the initiative would “open prospects for mutual benefits between Egypt and the UAE and remove the obstacles they suffered from previously.”
