The state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Kano state, Salisu Yakasai, has disclosed that out of the 1,000 members of the NYSC in the batch A deployed to the state, about 900 of them have been redeployed to other states as a result of the current security challenge bedevilling the ancient northern city.
Salisu, who made this known during the closing ceremony of the Batch A orientation course which took place today nationwide, said the recent upsurge in the activities of insurgents in the state informed the relocation of corps members.
However, Mr. Salisu said the remaining corps members would be redeployed to the rural areas of the state as they are relatively safer.
Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has charged those who stayed back to take advantage of the various job opportunities offered to them in the state, promising that government would do everything to ensure their safety.
