Crowds of worshippers are surging to the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia, and it's not as a result of the priest's sermon. It's thanks to what the pastor describes as a 'divine occurrence' after an image of the virgin Mary appeared on the church's window. Visitors have left flowers beneath the window and built a makeshift altar.

Responding to allegations that the 'divine occurrence' may have more mortal origins, the church's pastor Father Bernardo Molina says he did not create the image himself.
'There are a lot of people that may think it's a stain or condensation. They ask if I drew it,' he said.
'No, no, no. There's no way you can do that,' he added
Father Molina said the unusual mark appeared on the window on December 12 and can be seen on most sunny days.
One woman who was among the throngs queuing up to see the 'miracle' was in tears as she prayed to the silhouette.
'Believe, believe and have faith,' was her message.
In a Facebook post to the church's followers, Father Molina said he was not sure how the image appeared.
He said: 'Many parishioners and other visitors claim it to be an image of the Virgin Mary.
I have heard several explanations ranging from a divine occurrence to a faulty window coating. I will let you make your own interpretation.
'We may never agree on why or how this image appeared on the window.'

An unemployed Senegalese man who was rescued by the
Spanish coastguard after making a risky journey from
Morocco eight years ago on a packed wooden boat won
400,000 euros ($437,000) in Spain’s annual Christmas
lottery, local media reported Wednesday.
The man, identified only by his first name Ngame, was one
of the holders of one of the 1,600 tickets with the winning
number in the draw draw.
He made an illegal entry into Europe with his wife.
“I just can’t believe this, I can tell you that on some
days we do not have five euros between the two of
us,” he told the newspaper which published a photo
of Ngame holding his winning ticket.
Ngame and his wife arrived eight years ago in the resort
island of Tenerife, a part of Spain’s Canary Islands in the
Atlantic off the coast of Morocco. They were taken there
after being rescued by Spain’s coast guard when the boat
they were travelling in ran into trouble.
“There were 65 people on that boat. I want to give
thanks to Spaniards and the Spanish government for
rescuing me when I was in the sea,” he told the
newspaper.

Katerina Putin, younger daughter of Russian President
Vladimir Putin got married to Kirill Shamalov, son of an old
friend of Putin.
Their wedding celebrations took place in February 2013, at
Igora, a small ski resort that combines beauty and
discretion, five people who were there told Reuters. Set
amid woodland with a picturesque lake, the resort is co-
owned by the family of Yuri Kovalchuk, another old friend of
Putin, and a Cyprus company with undisclosed
shareholders.
One person who attended the event said staff were told the
bride and groom were named Kirill and Katerina, and that
guests wore white scarves embroidered with the letters
"K&K" in red thread. When shown a photograph of a woman
known as Katerina Tikhonova, the source identified her as
the bride. Tikhonova is Putin's younger daughter, as Reuters
confirmed in November.
"Guards were behind every corner, (they) didn't let
anyone close to the celebration," said a staff
member at the resort, which has a luxurious spa
complex. "But we knew it was Kirill and Katerina -
Putin's daughter - celebrating marriage."
At the time of the wedding, Kirill - a tall, dark-haired man
with rimless glasses - was a rising star of Russian business,
but still only 31. His fortunes began to skyrocket soon after
his wedding to the president's daughter, a competitive
acrobatic dancer who is now helping to oversee a $1.7
billion expansion of Moscow State University.
Within 18 months, Kirill acquired a large chunk of shares in
a major Russian oil and petrochemical processor called
Sibur - a stake now worth an estimated $2.85 billion, based
on the value of recent share deals. He also quit his job as a
business manager and set up a company to run his personal
investments.
How did such a young businessman go so far, so fast? A
Reuters examination of Shamalov's career shows that in the
summer of 2013, months after he married Putin's daughter,
Kirill opened discussions about buying shares in Sibur from
one of the president's wealthiest friends.
A year later, he was able to borrow more than $1 billion,
judging by the published accounts of his investment
company. The loan came from a bank headed by another
longtime associate of Putin, and where Shamalov's brother
holds a senior position. The money was used to make an
investment in Sibur that within months proved highly
profitable for Kirill.
Asked about his business deals and the wedding, Kirill
Shamalov and Sibur declined to comment.
The trajectory of Kirill's fortunes sheds new light on how
people close to Putin have taken commanding positions in
key companies - and how such opportunities are now being
extended to a new generation. Like the wedding, much of
this transfer of riches has occurred away from public
scrutiny.
Vladimir Milov, a former Russian deputy energy minister and
now an opposition campaigner, said Putin's friends had
acquired major assets with the help of lenders with links to
the state, such as Gazprombank.
"It's extremely non-transparent, so it is hard to get to
and judge the specifics of the loan agreements,"
Milov said. "They consider Gazprombank their pocket
bank."
He added: "They are looking to pass on their power and
privileges to a new generation."
Asked about the wedding celebrations and business deals,
Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president, said:
"Putin's daughters are not involved in politics or business.
The businessman, Shamalov, is well known. As far as we are
aware, all his activities are in line with the laws of the
Russian Federation. For many years he has been in the
management of the company Sibur, and along with other
senior managers is a shareholder. His career and business
are not within the sphere of interest of the Kremlin. We do
not give comments on the private lives of Putin's close
relatives."

Jenson Button and wife Jessica Michibata's separation was completely "amicable", a spokesperson for the racing driver said.
The ex-Formula One world champion and underwear model Jessica wed last December after five years of dating, but the pressures of their jobs, keeping them in different parts of the world, has taken its toll.
"Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no-one else involved," the 35-year-old star's representative said on Tuesday.
Now attention turns to Jenson's estimated £35m fortune as it is reported there was no prenuptial agreement set in place.
"Jenson and Jessica did not have any financial arrangement before their marriage," a source close to the pair told The Sun. "There are ongoing discussions between them about money, but it's too early to say how it will pan out."

And he admitted that his hectic schedule meant he wasn’t able to give Jessica dates when they could meet up.
He added:
“I’m travelling so much with racing that I can’t say: ‘I’m going to have a weekend off Formula 1 and come to Japan to see you,’ It just doesn’t happen like that with sport.”
“She’ll come to half the races but when I’m at a race, I’m not the same person as when I am not at a race,” he admitted.
“I have to be selfish. I have to be focused. I am a very different person, and Jessie knows that, and she understands that, as do most of my friends and family. I can be a bit snappy over a race weekend".
“I just need my apartment to be simple, easy, so I can come in, do my thing, and leave again, pack and repack and leave. It’s been my life for 16 years now – you get used to travelling the circus.”

Johnny Depp has been named the most overpaid movie star in Hollywood by Forbes magazine after posting a string of box office turkeys.
Depp, one of the highest-paid actors on the planet with estimated annual earnings of $30m (£20m), returned just $1.20 for every $1 he was paid according to the financial magazine’s metric.
His poor position is due to the financial failure of movies such as Mortdecai, Transcendence and The Lone Ranger, all of which bombed at the box office on the back of derisive reviews. The Lone Ranger was the biggest turkey, with studio Disney estimated to have lost upwards of $150m on the western, but comedyMortdecai pulled in just $47.4m at the global box office against a production budget of $60m alone, and sci-fi thriller Transcendence only just recouped its $100m production costs, with marketing and other expenses likely to have put the film well into the red.
All 10 actors on the “most overpaid” list are male.
1. Johnny Depp: $1.20 per $1
2. Denzel Washington: $6.50 per $1
3. Will Ferrell: $6.80 per $1
4. Liam Neeson: $7.80 per $1
5. Will Smith: $8.60 per $1
6. Christian Bale: $9.20 per $1
7. Channing Tatum: $10.80 per $1
8. Brad Pitt: $12.00 per $1
9. Ben Affleck: $12.30 per $1
10. Tom Cruise: $13.60 per $1
