Beyonce’s dad has opened up about the bitter rift with his superstar daughter for the first time, admitting that he’s devastated at being pushed out of his daughter’s life.
Mathew Knowles was the manager behind Beyonce’s career from her Destiny’s Child days right up until 2011 when the pair announced they were parting ways on a ‘business level’, insisting that the split was ‘amicable. Bey’s husband Jay-Z then stepped up to manage his wife’s chart topping career.

Rumours started circulating though that the pair’s relationship was in fact tarnished by a family scandal, when it was revealed Mathew had allegedly fathered a lovechild while he was still married to the star’s mother, Tina.
At the time Mathew was quick to insist things were fine between him and his daughter, issuing a statement insisting he left to commit more time to other artists. “We mutually agreed to part ways in terms of me managing Beyonce, as my focus is in the investment of Music World Entertainment’s growing gospel and inspirational music division,” he told Us Weekly.
Now, Mathew has changed his tune and admited he is devastated at being pushed out of Beyonce’s life. In a new interview, Knowles also hits back at claims he mismanaged his daughter’s finances when he was in charge of her career.
Mathew is still insisting that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual, but it is believed Beyonce has yet to introduce her 4-month-old daughter Blue Ivy to her dad, hinting at a deep feud.

“I’ve never revealed this much in an interview before,” Mathew tells The Sun “Normally I hate to talk about anything personal, but it would be a lie if I did not say it has been difficult. It was hard for me to let her go — it was hard for both of us to let each other go.”
“And let’s be clear on that. She didn’t let me go, we both let each other go. That’s a big difference.”
Speaking from his office in Houston, Texas, he adds: “This was not a normal ending of a business agreement. This was a dad and a daughter and it was incredibly painful and it had some difficulties. But I try to always have a positive mind about things and you got to do it the right way.” [EntWise]

The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr Paul Orhii, has made it known that the agency is advocating life term jail for convicts of counterfeit products.
Dr Orhii, disclosed this on Tuesday at the formal opening of the Health Canada-NAFDAC mentorship launch meeting. He said that the agency was reviewing the current law which stipulated a fine of N500,000 or 15-year jail term on conviction of offenders involved in the sale, distribution, importation and advertisement of counterfeit regulated production.
In his speech, the NAFDAC DG also explained that the agency wanted a new law which would make the offence non-bailable, life term jail and confiscation of assets of convict as well as compensation for victims if product was found to be the cause of death or severe bodily injury.
Bemoaning counterfeiting of regulated product as the major challenge faced by the agency, he explained that a counterfeit medicine was one which was deliberately and fraudulently mislabeled with respect to identity or source. He noted that Nigeria had been a fallow ground on which counterfeiters thrived: “Nigeria, with a large population, a good market size, low production capacity and vast and porous borders is a prime target for counterfeiters whose drugs are taken in high volume for managing diseases of public health interest.”

Forbes Magazine has rolled out its annual “hip-hop’s wealthiest artists list.” This year’s top five should come as no surprise.
Rap’s reigning moguls return to the list in 2013. Once again, Diddy has been crowned as the top money maker…but wait a minute, the guy hardly sings anymore—he needs to be respected for his exploits that has kept him as one of the top earners for years.
Well, obviously it’s not a matter of how often you release songs, Dr. Dre hasn’t been really active too. The ‘beats’ and the ‘Ciroc’s sell more than music, I guess.

Police in Aba, Abia state have arrested a soldier Abdulkarim Salawudeen and an 18 year old girl, Ogechi Chibuike for alleged armed robbery at the Osisioma Ngwa section of the Enugu “ Port Harcourt Expressway.
Salawudeen, who claimed to be a Lance Corporal with Army number, 98NA/ 47/3484, was alleged to have conspired with Ogechi and others still at large to rob unsuspecting members of the public at odd hours of the day.
The girl, Ogechi would stand by the road side at odds hours crying for assistance from road users particularly from 7pm to 11pm and when people stop to assist her, the soldier, Salawudeen and other members of his gang would come out from their hiding in nearby bush with their guns and rob them. Through this strategy, the gang was alleged to have robbed people of their vehicles and other property
The Police, who have received several complaints about the operations of the gang, stormed their hideout at a drug joint near the popular Enyimba area on the Expressway and arrested the soldier and Ogechi while other members of gang are still at large. Items recovered from them include 16 Army camouflage uniforms, 3 ear rings, assorted GSM cards, Citizen bank Identity card belonging to one Ngozi Njoku as well as a Citizen bank Cheque book bearing the name of Onwumere Okechukwu.
Sources hint that Salawudeen who hails from Kogi state was a serving soldier in 93 Battalion, Takum, Taraba state but deployed to an Army formation in Abia state.
Salawudeen is also said to have series of disciplinary cases which necessitated his return to his Battalion but he rather chose to abscond and form a robbery gang.

The lady member of the gang, Ogechi who hails from Agburuike Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North Local government Area of Abia state stated that the soldier instructed her dress half unclad and shout for help from road users.
“He told me to stand on the roadside and call for help as anybody who sees me will stop.
When I stand on the road and shout for help, people will stop to know what happened to me and he will come out with his Army uniform and rob them.
Sometimes, he will tell me to be half unclad to attract people. He told me that with his uniform, nobody will say anything. After operations, he gives N400.
There was one we carried out at Ama Hausa, he gave me N500,”Ogechi said.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has ordered Nigeria Premier League clubs, Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers to agree on a transfer fee for Super Eagles’ attacking midfielder, Sunday Mba before the close of work today. “Failure of the two clubs to reach a reasonable conclusion on the fee will compel the NFF to fix such a transfer fee by Friday, March 29, which must be paid on the agreed terms before the player is cleared to play for his preferred club and continue his career,” said a statement by the Ad-hoc Committee set up by the NFF on the matter.
Having established that the player was transferred from Enyimba FC of Aba to Rangers in December 2006, loaned to Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt and duly returned to Rangers, the Committee also affirmed that Rangers gave a ‘provisional clearance’ to the footballer to play for Warri Wolves between 2011 and 2013, but the player left Warri Wolves without any documentation back to Enugu Rangers and in fact, was registered for the 2013 CAF Champions League by the Coal City club.
Although the Committee established that the player no longer wishes to continue to play for Warri Wolves, it slammed the unhealthy and unwholesome practice in the Nigeria League, whereby verbal agreements, against proper documentation, hold sway. It indicted the clubs thus: “Transfer and loan fees meant for player transactions were not written down in clear terms and club accounts were found not to have been used for most transactions, which promotes unhealthy dealings in player transfers.”
The Committee concluded: “Based on the available information as presented by the Nigeria Professional Football League Management Committee on the Club Status of Player Sunday Mba…the player is currently having his contractual obligations to Warri Wolves.”
