An ISIS rape survivor has revealed the terrible fate she suffered at the hands of the ruthless terrorist organization. Nadia Murad Basee Taha, 21, from the Northern Iraqi town of Sinjar was captured in her home and sold as a sex slave to ISIS militants who considered her as an infidel and did whatever they wished with her body. Speaking at Cairo University in Egypt, she told students:
"When Daesh entered my village, they killed children, the old and young men. The next day, they killed the old women and led the young girls, including me, to Mosul. In Mosul, I saw thousands of Yazidi women where they were distributed to their slave masters. There I saw a huge Daeshi, who wanted to take me. I implored to another man to take me instead when I saw he was smaller. But he turned out later to be one of the worst people I’ve ever seen. The Daesh used to force me and other captives to pray and then rape us. We were not worth the value of animals.
"They raped girls in groups. They did what a mind could not imagine. In their so-called Sharia [Islamic law] courts, they had our names and phone numbers of our slave masters. They would call us whenever they wanted to spend time with us and sell us."
Nadia was brave enough to escape from her so called "owner" and has now made it her point of duty to inform the world especially young girls and youths about the growing threat ISIS poses to the girl child and World Peace.
"I am the victim of terrorism disguised under the cloak of Islam. All these crimes are committed in the name of Islam. I’ve come to the Muslim world to complain and demand an Arab and Islamic stance against Daesh. No religion accepts enslaving women and raping children. We have the right to demand a united global stance because we share others values of humanity."

This is the breathtaking moment Aretha Franklin performed a soulful rendition of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman - and immediately reduced the US President to tears.
The talented singer took to the stage to sing her popular 1968 hit for a star studded audience at a honours concert in America.
But Aretha barely made it through the first verse before Barack Obama was spotted wiping his eyes, according to WSJ News.
The camera later panned back to the President, who was seen singing along to the music as he sat beside wife Michelle.
He later stood for the final chorus of the song, clapping appreciatively as co-writer of the song Carole King danced along beside the couple.
The President and his wife were in attendance at the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, held on December 6 in Washington.

A beauty queen who shaved her head to con friends and family into believing she was battling cancer has denied pocketing thousands from the scam.
Ex-Miss Pennsylvania International US, Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, pretended she had chronic lymphocytic leukemia in March 2013.
The 23-year-old is accused of pocketing cash from fundraisers organised by her loved ones to pay for her fake treatment, the last of which raised $14,000 (£8,948).
Following her arrest, Weaver-Gates was charged with felony counts of theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
She has been held on $150,000 bail at the Centre County Corrections Facility since her arrest.
The student allegedly made friends and family drive her to hospital appointments, leaving them to wait for up to eight hours for her while she went elsewhere.
She posted images on Facebook showing her wearing bandages and surgical masks and with a shaved head.
She also gave extensive newspaper interviews about her cancer and even posted less than three weeks ago about being in remission.
Her alleged fraud was only exposed after police received an anonymous tip-off saying she could not name a single one of her doctors.
State Police Trooper Thomas Stock contacted the hospitals at which Weaver-Gates said she was treated for her cancer - but there was no mention of her anywhere in their records.
Stock called her efforts to make people believe she had cancer "an elaborate scheme".
Following her arrest, Weaver-Gates was stripped of her Miss Pennsylvania US International title.
"When you deceive the public and take people's money that is under the pretense of fraud, we will not tolerate those actions," said a statement from the pageant organisers Butler's Beauties .
"Ms. Weaver-Gates ... will be required to return her crown and sash upon her release from being detained."

Police say quick thinking by the victim of a frightening abduction and assault helped them catch her attacker in the act.
The attack happened early Monday in the back of an adult entertainment store.
Officers say Robert Giles, 27, asked the victim to call her boyfriend so he could hear the assault.
Instead of calling her boyfriend, she called 911. Police say the savvy 911 operator also kept his wits about him and played along unbeknownst to the attacker.
“It was quick thinking on his behalf. In fact, (it) might have saved her life,” Clayton County police Maj. Joe Woodall said.
Officers say Giles kidnapped the victim from Hapeville and brought her to the closed Starship Novelties and Gifts store on Tara Boulevard around 4 a.m. Monday intending to rape her. That’s when he allegedly asked her to call her boyfriend so he could listen to the assault.

Deonte Smith was the only man working as a Clayton County dispatcher early Monday, when that call came through and he played along.
The victim called 911 and told her attacker it was her boyfriend. The 911 operator, Deonte Smith, played along.
“She explained to him what the perpetrator had told her; that he was wanting him to listen while she was being raped,” Woodall said.
The operator tried to talk the attacker out of the assault and sent police. Police quickly arrived and say they arrested Giles in the act.
“They were able to stop it right then and there and snatched him right from the car,” Woodall said.
Smith told Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday he was just doing his job, but the timing of the call was crucial.
“Honestly I’d say divine intervention,” Smith said. “I was the only guy on the floor that night. The other guy we had had just left not too long before the call came in.”
Smith said the victim deserves credit for her quick thinking while being assaulted.
Giles now faces rape, false imprisonment and obstruction charges. Hapeville police are preparing kidnapping charges against Giles.

While speaking with newsmen in Kaduna, renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi accused the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, of running a parallel government in the North. He alleged that for 40 years of its existence, the Shiite sect conducted military training of its members. He said;
“The Shiites have been embarking on military training and producing cadets and soldiers. The Islamic Movement of Nigeria does not recognize the corporate entity of Nigeria. The group is not registered. They operate above the law and they get direct foreign aid.”
The cleric said that the late president Umara Yaradua informed him of the importation of large caches of weapons into the country by the sect with the cooperation of Iran, he also said he wrote a letter year warning against the dangers of the sect blocking roads whose members "travelled on foot from all over the country to Zaria.”, according to him, the blockage of roads by the sect is "an abomination in Islam".

While warning that the North would continue to be under-developed if the Shi’ite and Boko Haram groups were not eradicated, Gumi said, “The strife and unnecessary blocking of roads and shouting slogans on the way increases the tension in the North.”

The cleric noted that the bloody clash between the Army and the Shi’ites was a divine intervention to prevent the recurrence of “another Boko Haram.”

Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder John Mikel Obi says Chelsea is much more happier under Guus Hiddink and have a better atmosphere in the team than under former manager Jose Mourinho, who was removed by the club owner, Roman Abramovich, before Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Sunderland on 19 December. Obi said;
"We’ve moved on and the atmosphere has improved since the change of manager. It’s fine now, we’ve just not been getting results. José is a fantastic manager and will always be a fantastic guy. But sometimes football is a cruel game and you have to move on.

He came back to the club a second time and won two trophies but now he’s gone and we have to move on. Is it the right decision? Who knows? We’ll only see in the future. “He [Hiddink] hasn’t changed much yet but he was here before and he knows the place and all the staff. The players are different – only me and John Terry were here before – but he knows what to do. We’re down there in the table for a reason so he can’t come in and perform miracles but we want to get out of there and climb the table. We’ve had three games now without losing so are making the right steps. I’ve been as confused as everyone else,” he said.
“It’s difficult when you’re not playing, as you don’t really know what the problems are. I wasn’t playing that much under Mourinho so couldn’t put my finger on what was going wrong. It was a collective thing – the players and the manager were not performing.” he concluded
Mikel also feels Man Utd played for a draw just like Chelsea were content with a draw at their recent clash at Old Trafford.
“Sometimes you could see in the game (against Man Utd) that they had chances to attack but were a little bit skeptical or hesitant. Maybe they were a little bit scared. “I don’t think they were really scared but just a bit cautious. They were playing not to lose as well. Because of the fast players we have up front, who can break, they were cautious and approached the game not to lose. Both teams are not in the right place right now to attack, attack, attack, attack. Sometimes you have to be smart and settle for a point.”

62-year-old Babatunde Idris has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for parading himself as a colonel in the Nigerian Army and using a fake identity to defraud one Yinusa Mustapha of the sum of N40m.
The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, said Idris was arrested after a petition was filed against him.
He said:
“Following a petition received alleging the fraudulent activities of Idris, the command’s Anti-kidnapping Squad swung into action and arrested the suspect, who until his arrest had fraudulently obtained various sums of money from his victims.”
Oyebade added that the suspect promised his last victim, Mustapha, that he would help him to get a certificate for oil importation in 2012, but up till now that hasn't been done. He failed to complete the deal after the money was paid into his account.
The commissioner added:
“The suspect forged various letterheads of the Nigerian Army which he issued to unsuspecting individuals and corporate organisations soliciting assistance. He also had multiple identities under fake names all bearing the status of a colonel”.
The suspect said on the other hand said:
“I collected N16m from him claiming to be a colonel in the army. I signed the form, but truly I am not a military man. One of my brothers is a general in the army. One day, he gave me a letter to help somebody, so I made a copy of it.
“Mustapha wanted me to help him to collect certificate of oil lifting and because I knew people who could do it, I took the money from him, but the deal failed.”

U.S.-led forces have killed 10 Islamic State leaders in air strikes, including individuals linked to the Paris attacks, a U.S. spokesman said, dealing a double blow to the militant group after Iraqi forces ousted it from the city of Ramadi.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi planted the national flag in Ramadi after the army retook the city center from Islamic State, a victory that could help vindicate his strategy for rebuilding the military after stunning defeats.
"Over the past month, we've killed 10 ISIL leadership figures with targeted air strikes, including several external attack planners, some of whom are linked to the Paris attacks," said U.S. Army Colonel Steve Warren, a spokesman for the U.S.-led campaign against the Islamist group also known by the acronym ISIL.
"Others had designs on further attacking the West."
One of those killed was Abdul Qader Hakim, who facilitated the militants' external operations and had links to the Paris attack network, Warren said. He was killed in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Dec. 26.
Two days earlier, a coalition air strike in Syria killed Charaffe al Mouadan, a Syria-based Islamic State member with a direct link to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected ringleader of the coordinated bombings and shootings in Paris on Nov. 13 which killed 130 people, Warren said.
Mouadan was planning further attacks against the West, he added.
Air strikes on Islamic State's leadership helped explain recent battlefield successes against the group, which also lost control of a dam on a strategic supply route near its de facto capital of Raqqa in Syria on Saturday.
"Part of those successes is attributable to the fact that the organization is losing its leadership," Warren said. He warned, however: "It's still got fangs.

24 year old Funke Balogun, a National Diploma II student of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), was allegedly electrocuted in a hotel bathroom owned by her boyfriend Abolade Adetunji's mother at 30, Balogun Street, Oshodi in Lagos on Sunday December 27th.
According to a report by the Nation, Funke who is a mother of one, was in a relationship with Abolade who just passed from NYSC. According to Funmi, the younger sister of the deceased, Abolade came to pick her sister at their residence on Saturday around 11pm.
“Abolade was in a hurry that night and I told my sister not to go but she picked some of her things and left with him. On Sunday morning around 7, she called and said plans had changed that they were not going to the beach again but to a hotel and since then, we have been trying her mobile line. When she didn’t pick her call, I became worried. That day was her birthday and our mother still called her in the midnight to pray for her. Even, when my mum called Abolade’s mobile line, someone picked and said he forgot his phone and since then his lime has been switched off."
Funmi said when she and some family members went to the hotel to see if they could check on her, they didn’t see her, adding that the receptionist said Adetunji just stepped out and wasn’t with a girl.
“Even when we got to Abolade’s house, we were told he had gone to the beach. Around8pm on Sunday, my cousin and I went to the hotel again, I sighted blood on the wall and when I asked Abolade’s brother, Bayo where my sister was, he said: ‘at the moment, Funke is dead’; he said it without remorse and was still icing drinks in the freezer. Even when we went to the police station, they said they were not aware of the incident. Is that how my sister will die? She has been dating him for almost a year. He just returned from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Anambra State. The boy is very proud to the extent that whenever he visited her, he didn’t greet anyone.”she said
When interviewed, Abolade said his girlfriend died of shock.
"‎She was already in the bathroom and I went to meet my brother who was on the same floor with us to get the toothpaste. As I returned to the room, I tried to open the toilet door but it was stiff. As I gained access to the toilet, I met her on the floor with a shower handle on her right hand. When I tried to carry her, I didn’t know what happened until I saw myself on hospital bed.”
His father, Jamiu Adetunji, A. K.A (Yaro), said Abolade’s elder brother called their mother that they needed a doctor.
“Immediately we took them to Geo Medical Centre where Funke eventually gave up. We first took her to General Hospital, Ikeja but she was rejected because there was none of her family members with us. It was later we reported the incident to Akinpelu Police Station where they took the body to Yaba mortuary. I wouldn’t want to kill someone else’s daughter. Funke was my son’s girl friend and I told her to help me monitor his movement because at times he wouldn’t listen and since he talked about her dearly, I felt she was going to inspire him. It is really unfortunate. My son has put me in trouble. Even when they wanted to know the girl’s full name, I pinched my son few times just for him to wake up. I have arrested the electrician that connected light to the building because last Friday, occupants of the building beside the hotel complained of shock in their house and I told the electrician but he refused to come. It was after the incident he came and was arrested. “‎
The mother of the bereaved, Kehinde Balogun, has remained inconsolable since the day of the incident
"Funke was my first child and she has a three-year-old son. The only reason they live alone is because her school is close to the family house in Oshodi. Why did they kill my beauty? Why? What have I done to deserve this? I wish she listened to her sister that night because she had a dream. I saw my daughter in my sleep this morning telling me she had returned. It is unfortunate. I wish it was a reality. It is a big tragedy because where she died was three houses from where I gave birth to her. I warned her about him but she told me he was okay and assured me everything was fine.” she said amid tears.

In a landmark decision, China’s Parliament on Monday adopted the country’s first law against domestic violence, bringing traditionally silent abuse victims, including couples who are in live-in relationship, under legal protection. The new law, passed by the Chinese national legislature, prohibits any form of domestic violence, including psychological abuse.
“The country prohibits any form of domestic violence,” reads the new law, which formally defines domestic violence and streamlines the process for obtaining restraining orders – measures long advocated by anti-domestic abuse groups, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The legislation was approved at the end of a week-long bimonthly session of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.
According to the new bill, victims and those in immediate danger can file for a personal protection order that the court must grant or deny within 72 hours. In urgent cases, decisions must be made within 24 hours. Once the order is granted, courts may prohibit the abuser from harassing, stalking or contacting the applicant and his or her close relatives, order the abuser to move out of the home, or adopt various other measures to protect the applicant.
If the abuser violates the protection order, they may be fined up to 1,000 yuan, detained for up to 15 days or face criminal charges in serious offences.
Domestic violence is defined as physical, psychological and other harm inflicted by family members with beatings, restraint or forcible limits on physical liberty, recurring invectives and verbal threats listed as examples. It enables individuals and organizations to prevent domestic violence, and allows legal guardians and close relatives of abuse victims, in addition to the victims themselves, to report abuse.
Police will have to step in immediately when such a report is filed.
The new law also covers cohabitation, meaning those who are not related but live together are also included. According to Communist Party-run All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), nearly 25 per cent of Chinese women have suffered domestic violence in their marriage.
More than 40,000 complaints of domestic violence are lodged with the ACWF each year.
Victims resorting to the ACWF for help are mainly women, children and the elderly, and 88.3 per cent of cases received in 2014 involved abuse by husbands of their wives. China previously did not have a special law covering violence in the family. References to the matter were only made in other laws and regulations such as the Marriage Law, the Law on the Protection of Minors and the Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Women.

Texas 'affluenza' teen detained in Mexico

A Texas teen, who was a fugitive after allegedly breaking his probation sentence for killing four people while driving drunk, has been arrested in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, CNN reported on Monday, citing officials briefed on the matter.
Ethan Couch, 18, was sentenced to probation about two years ago in juvenile court for intoxication manslaughter and is wanted in Tarrant County, Texas. He and his mother went missing earlier this month.
The "affluenza" nickname for the teen came from a psychologist who said during Couch's trial he was so wealthy and spoiled he could not tell the difference between right and wrong.

Neighbour Esther Williams, has been arrested by the Isheri division of the Lagos State Police Command for pouring hot water on a nursing mother, Mabel Enwongomfon–Umoh.
Williams allegedly emptied a bucket of hot water on Mabel after they had a little argument on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at around 8pm.
The incident left Mabel, who was still breastfeeding her two-month-old baby, with severe burns on many parts of her body, including her breasts and abdomen and she has not been able to breastfeed her baby since the incident happened.
Mabel, 27, who was evidently writhing in pains on the hospital bed explained what led to the altercation.
She said:
“My neighbour’s brother and his girlfriend were fighting and they pushed themselves to the front of my door. When I could not cope with the disturbance again, I went outside to call the guy’s sister to come and separate them or make them leave our entrance.
“As I was going back to my room, Williams, who had nothing with the fight, asked why I called the sister, saying I was interfering in something that did not concern me. I told her that they were fighting in front of my room, but she pushed me. I was surprised because we never had a quarrel before then.
“That was how we started shouting on each other.”
She said her husband who was in the room with their two children heard the shouting match between her and their neighbour then intervened and asked her to go back into the room with him.
She said on their way back to their apartment when Williams ran into her room and ran back out with a bucket of hot water and poured it on her.
She said
“I was in the front while my husband was behind me. Suddenly, she went into her room and came out with a bucket and poured the content on me.
“I have been in serious pain since then, and I have not been able to breastfeed my two-month-old baby, who is my second child.”
The husband of the victim, who identified himself as Umoh, said that Williams attempted to escape after assaulting his wife, but he was able to apprehend and hand her over to the police.
A police source Williams had confessed to the crime but blamed the devil for the crime.
“She would be charged to court,” the source said.

Senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki has described his Deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as a perfect example for Nigerian politicians, saying that he tremendously enjoys working with him.
The two spoke at a civic reception at Senator Ekweremadu's village, in Mpu, Enugu State, shortly after a special thanksgiving service, where Ekweremadu rededicated himself to service to Nigeria and mankind.
Senator Saraki in his address said:
“For we politicians, it is always better to get close to know somebody because in our meetings in the 7th Senate, myself and him were far apart, but in this current Senate, I am the first person to tell a few people that Senator Ekweremadu is a perfect gentleman. You are a perfect gentleman and I repeat that many times and you are a good example for us politicians.
“He is the type of Nigerians that we will want to continue to serve because he only sees things for the good of Nigeria. I am grateful to be working with you and I will continue to assure you that we will continue to work closely for the interest of this great country.”
Ekweremadu during his thanksgiving service said:
“About two years ago, nobody would have believed that we will be here talking about Ike Ekweremadu being a Senator again, let alone being the Deputy President of the Senate. But, by the grace of God, I am today not only the Senator representing Enugu West, but also the Deputy President of the Senate.
“We went through very tumultuous primaries that almost divided our state along the line, but we thank God that today Enugu is united and peaceful.
“After the elections, PDP lost control of the National Assembly and many people thought we were finished, but we went into political engineering and I want to thank my colleagues for that long night. We decided that when we got to the chamber in the morning, we were going to perform wonders and when the time came for the inauguration of the Senate, I was re-elected Deputy President of the Senate. It was the will of God.
